Hear New Erasure Song – Take Me Out Of Myself

5 November 2016

As part of Erasure's 30 year anniversary celebrations, the band organised and starred at a fan convention in Birmingham, UK on Friday 4th November. Fans were treated to an on-stage question and answer session with Andy and Vince, each attendee had a meet and greet with the band, there was a short acoustic set performed and the night was rounded off with DJ sets from both band members.

Undoubtedly one of the highlights of the day (for me at least!) was the band performing a brand new song live for the very first time. The track is called Take Me Out Of Myself and will be included on the forthcoming (as yet untitled) new Erasure album which is due out in May 2017. The band also confirmed the new album would be supported with a 2017 tour! Naturally I had to video the performance of this new song, which can be seen below. I've also published my unofficial Take Me Out Of Myself lyrics to this site, and uploaded some photos to my Flickr account.

For those who weren't lucky enough to attend, the Official Erasure Facebook page streamed the entire acoustic set live and the band's Q&A session.

Big hello to everyone I spoke to on the night! You know who you are... ;)

  1. Thanks a lot for the lyrics, Onge! Great one indeed! When I see Andy performing Erasure’s songs in the acoustic format, it becomes even clearer to me that what makes him such a special pop singer is his ability to sing like a brilliant Soul one (with British accent, of course) without losing the strong Pop appeal.

  4. Hi Zig!

Good to hear from you again! I’ve not yet got around to working on the lyrics for the From Moscow To Mars tracks – gonna tackle those this week. Might need to pick your brains if I come across any hard to decipher lyrics!

    Cheers,
    Onge
